Welcome to Technology Communications II Wiki Space!

All students, parents and visitors are welcome to this Wiki. The purpose of this Wikispace is to communicate learning modules and activities to the students. The paragraphs below are to introduce myself to the students and to explain what this Wiki is all about. It will change and be updated as needed.

My name is Sister Cathy Swartz, OSF. Like you, I attended Hallahan High School and taught here as well. It is my pleasure to return to our beloved Hallahan. Like you, I look forward to a year that will engage us in discussion, collaboration, and new learnings that will prepare every student to meet the future as faith-filled, confident, and competent Catholic High School graduates.

If you look at your roster, you see the course name is Technology Communications II. This course is cutting edge in that you will be using Web 2.0 software and other digital tools that will be integrated into your learning activities. These activities will be designed around specific learning outcomes--what you should know and be able to do at the end of each predesigned learning activity. Assessments will be based on the outcome of active participation in collaborative research assignments and projects, individual research assignments, individual and group demonstrations and/or presentations, tests, and completion and submission of all home assignments on time. Rubrics will be developed for each competency, so that you will know how grades are determined. If a student has any question about any assignment, project, etc., please feel free to seek a mutually agreeable time to meet with me. Any student wishing extra assistance may also request either teacher or peer-tutor assistance. Assignments will be posted on the school website as well as on the class Wiki. Should any student be absent from school, please be sure to check into the school website or class Wiki.
